Mental Health Association of Central Florida

Walks & Community Health Fairs

Out Of the Darkness:

Each year usually the first weekend of February we band together to support the survivors of suicide. We know the effect of mental illness ripples far beyond the person who is afflicted. Those that have lost someone to suicide, and consumers who have survived work through this journey together. This powerful event collects the community at Baldwin Park and takes a 5k walk around the lake and concludes with a presentation and flight of doves. Our presence at this walk continues to grow each year and we hope you can join us in showing your support bringing this subject Out of the Darkness and into the light. Bring your friends, family, and furry loved ones! For more details or to join us please RSVP to programcoordinator@mhacf.org.

NAMI:

NAMI is an amazing grass roots agency build and run by consumers and family members. They work to support the community through educational programs. They host their annual fundraiser in the beginning of May. We always attend as a way to show our support to another integral mental health advocacy agency. Settled in their new location at Crane’s roost we hope for many sunny events ahead! Please join us to show your support and meet the community of providers and consumers. Friends and family are encouraged to join us as well; for more details or to join us please RSVP to programcoordinator@mhacf.org.
